While perusing through the selection of hotels in Brighton, I came across the Hotel Pelirocco, somewhere a close friend had recommended to me and I instantaneously became intrigued? A quick look through the choice of rooms highlighted the intention to stand out and offer something completely unique to anywhere else in Brighton.

Blending a love for classic bands alongside a sub and dom bondage roleplay scenario, the rooms are each decorated to their own theme, so you can pick the one that suits you.

I have to apologise upfront for the pictures, my camera focus unfortunately broke so they all came out a bit blurry. Fortunately I managed to grab some on my phone as well. Ah well, good old technology!

My Room

I stayed in the Nookie Room, described as ’50 shades of purple’ and it definitely didn’t disappoint. With silky sheets, a curtained off sofa area and sexy board games, it is definitely a fun room for a couple. There was a nice view of Regency Square, while you can also see the burned down pier to the right.

The Bathroom

The double showers are a great touch, quadruple the size of the showers in the last hotel I reviewed.

Kinky Games

There were three ‘Nookii’ kinky board games, all with cards detailing tasks for the other, with a blindfold in.

An example of what you’d find on a card would be “Remove your top and sit behind me with you legs either side of mine. Place your hands on my shoulders and massage them, pausing to nuzzle your nose into my neck. Push your body really close into mind and clasp me tightly around my chest. Kiss and nibble my earlobes”…I might have to get myself a pack, sounds like fun!

One thing I didn’t notice until the morning was that the bed also worked as a bondage device, with the three rings at either end capable of moving so you can trap in someone’s hands and head.

Extras

The little extra’s are what makes this room standing out. Including tea and coffee is an expectation, but including curly wurly’s is a brilliant touch.

The old school phone reminds me of childhood, while it really adds to the atmosphere,

Cocktail Bar

Fancy a drink on your stay? Right at the reception is a cocktail bar! I arrived on a Tuesday so it was hard to get an idea of how busy the bar gets, however this just means I’ll have to revisit some time, what a shame! The bar staff were all very friendly and you could instantly tell their personality matched up with the hotel, very wild and spirited with a great sense of humour.

My Rating

I have stayed in around 10 hotels in Brighton, however this one stands out as the winner so far, not just for the amusement you get from the theme, but also by the size. Brighton is notorious for paying over the odds and being stuck in a room with a bathroom the size of a pencil case, however this wasn’t the case with Pelirocco, with enough room to swing a cat (if you wanted to).

From my overall experience, combining the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness of the room, the atmosphere and the location, I have to give this five stars.

Rooms Available

Twin Rooms

The child in me would love to stay in the Lord Vader’s Quarters, a Star Wars themed twin room, with bunk beds. There is memorabilia all over the walls, while the DVD’s are provided in the room if you fancy a marathon session.

Triple Rooms

If you need a room for three, you have two options, the Dollywood room or the Pretty Vacant. The Dollywood is themed towards everything associated with Dolly Parton and that whole American scene. It has a proper Texas feel to it, so you can bring out your inner cowboy/cowgirl in this room.

The Pretty Vacant is a punk themed room, mainly around the Sex Pistols, with a really cool paper clip toilet paper holder (I know that shouldn’t be a highlight but I really want one).

Double Rooms

You’re spoilt for choice now, with options including the romantic and frivolous Ophelia Fancy, Mod style Modrophenia, the hunting lodge themed Gresham Blake, the Bowery Room which is inspired by Leigh Bowery or the room that I stayed in, the Nookii, as well as many many more.

The Suite

This is probably the most well known and documented room, known as Kraken’s Lair. It has a giant circle shaped bed, with a mirror over the top so you can look at yourselves while you’re…umm, yer you know. The bathroom is absolutely giant, with a walk in bath which easily fits two people in at once. There is even a pole dancing area for when the moment catches you.
