Since his mainstream success scoring the film adaptation of About a Boy in 2002, Badly Drawn Boy has continued to draw in audiences everywhere.
Babyshambles, 7th September @ Manchester Academy
Fronted by Pete Doherty, who despite his past issues, is a charismatic frontman, Babyshambles return to the music circuit in support of their new album, Sequel to the Prequel, due for release on the 2nd September.
Jimmy Eat World, 13th September @ Manchester Academy
US alternative rockers, J.E.W return to the mic in support of their latest album, Damage, while they’ll undoubtedly play some of their classic tracks, including the emo anthem, The Middle.
Soundgarden, 13th September @ O2 Apollo
If you haven’t managed to secure a ticket for this already, you may need to head for the auction sites because it’s completely sold out! Rightly so, considering they’re one of the pinnacle grunge bands of the 90s, with none other than Chris Cornell at the helm.
Leann Rimes, 16th September @ The Bridgewater Hall
Leann has enjoyed international success since her country music breakthrough in the mid-90s and her concert at the Bridgewater Hall will demonstrate that she’s showing no sign of slowing down. Expect to hear some of her new material, from the 2013 album, Spitfire.
Roger Waters, 16th September @ Manchester Arena
If you have never had the chance to witness the prog magic of Pink Floyd, this gig is for you. As one of the founders of the sensational rock group, Roger Waters takes to the stage to perform The Wall Live, and what a show it will be!
Manic Street Preachers, 27th September @ The Ritz
In a relatively intimate venue compared with the stages they have played before, the Manics will be even better than they are normally and this is reflected in the sold out status of the gig. Search online and if you’re lucky, you can bag a ticket for what promises to be an epic gig, too.
With other live music offerings including Paramore, Kris Kristofferson and Barry Gibb all scheduled for September, any music aficionado will be in their element in Manchester this September.
