Koh Samui

It is hard to hide my love for Koh Samui, however my view of the island might be enhanced by the magical stay at Ammatara Pura Pool Villas. Most visitors to Thailand actually jump along to Koh Tao, which isn’t surprising as it is often described as the most beautiful island in the world and also has less tourism traffic which is a relief, but Koh Samui is spectacular in itself. From Chaweng beach to Wat Plai Laem, plus the Fisherman’s Village Bophut, you will have so many things to do in Koh Samui you won’t want to leave, I certainly didn’t. It is actually the second largest island off Thailand, while the 12 metre tall Buddha is certainly a memorable sight, if you manage to make it off the beach. While I went for a relaxing break, which it certainly offers, you can also find the wild side if you want it, with plenty of bars and boat parties available. For those into nature, there are plenty of hikes and treks you can go on to see some amazing viewpoints of the island. The locals are generally very friendly, which I guess is unsurprising as the former fisher town now makes the majority of its money from tourism. Do share your stories if you visit, I will be back one day!
