At this point, I’m more of a food blogger than a travel blogger, visiting 4-5 restaurants a week, therefore this inevitably became a key focus on my trip to Benidorm. There are some great places to eat and some…Not so nice ones, so I felt it was important to share the nicer spots.
Also, make sure to have a read of my list of the best things to do in Benidorm if you’re planning a trip anytime soon.
D-Vora
Walking through, I was delighted that our table was booked on the balcony, meaning we had stunning views of the beach below, therefore I’d strongly recommend you book the outside balcony if possible.
I also really want to recommend the grilled salmon dish, it was honestly one of the best salmon dishes I’ve ever had in my life and I eat salmon multiple times a week. This is also a nice spot for some cocktails, I had to enjoy a sangria with those views.
They also have a tasting menu if you feel like pushing the boat out and trying a number of small dishes.
Aruba Beach Restaurant
I didn’t have sushi on my Benidorm bingo card! But I have to say, I was amazed by the quality of the dishes here. I’ll be brutally honest and say I was a tad nervous eating raw fish in Benidorm, despite my absolute love for the cuisine, but I shouldn’t have been, this was an amazing spot and I loved the food!
Honestly, if it wasn’t for the amazing views of D-Vora, this might have sneaked top spot. Located on Poniente beach, the menu is actually quite broad, so you’re not limited to sushi, there are burgers, breakfast dishes and also the Mediterranean dishes you’d get elsewhere, but my eyes were glued to the sushi.
Exotico
This is the same building that has the Selvatico rooftop bar, ideal for some stunning views and a good cocktail, while Exotico is down on the 1st floor.
The food was unbelievable, I mean seriously stunning. Every dish had so much thought put in, this was somewhere you go for a special meal, whether that’s some fine dining on a couple’s holiday or celebrating an anniversary.
The one negative was that the staff were a bit rude, a slight negative that stuck in the memory, but the food was so good, it helped to block those negative aspects out.
We did see a big hen party in the restaurant, so despite it being quite swanky, everyone is welcome, but they were all quite well dressed. If you’re on an Adult only holidays with Jet2holidays (like we were), then this might be the ideal spot for your dinner before a big night out.
La Taperia
You have to try local cuisines when you visit any country, and with Spain, that means tapas dishes like patatas bravas, Espanola tortilla and croquetas.
La Taperia is a great tapas restaurant located in the Old Town, just a short walk from the centre of Benidorm and with both indoor and outdoor seating. You’ll find it on Calle Santo Domingo, which is the famous Tapas Alley with a huge number of restaurants with outdoor seating one after another.
They also have a long wine list, plus do some decent cocktails, while I’m straight in for a sangria, of course.
We ordered way too much, so don’t hesitate to ask your waiter for guidance on how much to order as we clearly didn’t get it right.
Posada del Mar
We had our flight from London Stansted Airport and the moment we took our transfer into Benidorm from Alicante airport, this was our first stop, ideal as my tummy was rumbling.
The paella dishes have to be ordered for two people minimum as they’re large dishes, while even between two of us we really did struggle with the sheer quantity.
This is an ideal spot for seafood fans, but if you’re vegetarian or vegan, you may struggle a bit. There were meat dishes, with a few people ordering chicken and pork, but our seafood paella definitely seemed to be the winning dish of the day.
They offer a number of Alicante based rice dishes that you might not be able to find elsewhere, making it a nice spot to try something a bit different.
Moka Bloom
This isn’t somewhere you go for lunch or dinner, but if you fancy a cake and a coffee then this is the perfect spot in Benidorm.
My cafe latte was perfect, while the latte art they produced is out of this world. The cakes were also unbelievable. Everyone was obsessed with the cheesecake, but I was (surprisingly) all about the chocolate cake, it just tasted so rich and melted in the mouth.
They also sell flowers and tableware inside, making this a nice place to explore around while waiting for your food and drink to arrive. The outdoor terrace was covered, meaning we didn’t have to worry about being hit by the sun, while still feeling the warmth of being outside.
