If you’re looking for things to in Brighton for couples then I am more than delighted to share my best dating options, whether it’s Brighton restaurants, experiences or unique activities to try together. I have tried all of these with my wife, so these come from years of experience, as we love a good date night!
Of course, if you just want a list of things to do in Brighton then make sure to check out my guide!
A Luxurious Bottomless Brunch At Seahorse
I have a full list of the best bottomless brunch in Brighton which is worth checking out, but for a date, most of these aren’t ideal as they can be stuffed with hen parties going a bit over the top. The exception is Seahorse on Friday evenings, with sunset views on the seafront.
This is a touch of class, with nice food and tasty cocktails (providing you go for the slightly more expensive option, the cheaper one just provides prosecco). The only real catch is that this is pricier than the average boozy brunch, but it makes up for it in quality, with some nibbles to start with as well. You can even order a steak as your main, not what you usually find in a brunch selection.
Rent A Bike Along The Seafront

Now this one only works if firstly you can both cycle, secondly you both actually enjoy cycling. But me and Raquel used to rent the bikes near the Pier and cycle along the undercliffs (no cars nearby and beautiful sea views) all the way to Saltdean, then you can go the other way, through to Hove.
This is a bit more of a unique experience, allowing you to talk about stuff you see, rather than being sat down in a restaurant and trying to think of the next conversation subject. You also tend to see live events or things pop-up, such as on Hove Lawns or in the Marina, so you’re never far from an adventure.
Stroll Through North Laine or the Lanes
You don’t have to love shopping to enjoy walking through North Laine or the Lanes, especially in the summer time. They both have some incredibly unique stores, some nice cafes which you can stop off at for a coffee, plus some brilliant and unique bars.
In the North Laine, I always love exploring through Snoopers Paradise, with all the weird old antiques. There are also some new ones popping up each time I visit, whether it’s a chilli store, a cactus shop or bubble tea.
If you go to the Lanes, you could even enjoy a meal in an igloo with Coppa Club, you could eat some amazing food at Chilli or enjoy a nice cocktail at Blossoms, or just look through all the shop windows. They have a rubber ducky store which is…Bizarre.
Brighton Music Hall In The Summer Time
This one is purely a summer option, but in the sunshine, it’s hard to find a nicer spot. You have live music playing, outside table seating and you’re a stone’s throw away from the beach. My one negative point with this one is that the toilets are a bit frustrating here, but at least there are toilets so I shouldn’t complain.
They have an app, with a QR code on the table, so you can easily make an order without having to queue, but you can equally queue up if you prefer or think you might get served quicker.
Plus if you’re working to a budget or don’t want to spend money, then technically you could just sit at the side and listen to the live music without buying a drink.
You can expect live music over the weekends in the summer, while this is a popular spot, so you do have to look around for a table, but with about 100 they do have plenty available.
Ride Some Rides or Play Some Games On The Pier

I would say this one appeals more to people who didn’t grow up here or are visiting for a date, but equally me and Raquel used to love going on rides together when we started dating and I feel this is a great activity.
You can get a wristband online which gives you infinite rides, ideal if you want to test them all out, potentially more than once. I ended up going on the log ride maybe 5 times, as well as another 5 times on the Waltz and then a couple more times on the dodgems, not bad!
If you want to embrace that nostalgic side, you could play the 2p machines, plus they have numerous arcade games inside.
Cooking Classes At Brighton Cookery School
We have visited maybe 4-5 times over the past decade, from learning to make tapas to a steak meal, often with prosecco included in the booking, a must if you ask me!
They run a number of amazing classes, from fresh pasta to sushi, so you can look for your favourite type of food that you wish you knew how to make. The chef takes it slow and walks you through every aspect, so you can leave with confidence you’ll be able to replicate this in your own kitchen.
Located on London Road, a 12 minute walk from the station, once you finish up you could always head over the road to eat at Fatto a Mano or have a drink at the Hare and Hounds.
I will endeavour to add more activities and experiences that I feel are worthy of mention over time.
