The capital of Italy, it took the title from Florence back in 1870. You will have to eat your body weight in food while here, they are obsessed with it and make some great culinary options. In fact, their so addicted they have a museum of pasta in Rome. If you occasionally spot an image or a statue of a she-wolf, this is the mythological founder of Rome, the character that embodies a lot of the art from the area. You will be spoilt for things to do in Rome, such as the Pantheon and the Colosseum. You do have to be a little careful when going to cafes around the big attractions, especially if they are selling ice cream, as many have offered foods without stating prices, then charging ‘tourist taxes’ and trying to claim £25 for a single ice cream.
