Over the past few years I’ve had the great joy of testing out around 3 restaurants a week through the blog, including numerous different origins and styles. Below, I’ve highlighted only the best restaurants in London that me and Raquel personally thought qualify as the greatest you’ll find, we won’t list somewhere if we don’t think it made the grade (which is a fair few), therefore we’ve been quite harsh with who to include.
1 Lombard Street

Just a short walk from Monument (or you can go directly to London Bridge and have a nice stroll across the bridge), 1 Lombard Street is a beautiful venue which has an unbelievable roast dinner. Oh did I mention, you can make the roast a bottomless roast, meaning two hours of bottomless wine, mimosas, draught beer or bloody Mary’s.
They also offer a bottomless brunch which is worth checking out, not to mention amazing deals on burgers and cocktails on Friday nights.
This is a really nice, upmarket venue which is ideal for birthdays or a Sunday out in London. It’s also ideally placed for people like me who don’t live in London and need somewhere close to a big station like London Bridge.
Roe

Another restaurant that offers an unbelievable Sunday roast, the meat platter was spectacular, while it also helps when you don’t know which meat you’d prefer. I was also really impressed by the Swede mash which was really creamy and perfectly paired with the meats.
We also started with a grilled bread with a mushroom parfait, this isn’t something I would have picked out or assumed I’d like, but wow, I was floored with how tasty it was! Not too fussed about the shiitake on top, but it was all about the mushroom parfait, I would buy this and take it home if it was possible! I have found a mushroom parfait recipe since so I’m going to have a go at making this over the weekend, wish me luck.
Located along the South Dock in Canary Wharf with some really nice views out the giant windows, you have a short walk from Canary Wharf station.
Paradiso

The Paradiso Burger & Cocktail bar we visited was based in Soho, but they also have a restaurant in South Bank if you find that more convenient.
Compared to Roe and 1 Lombard Street, which very much had a focus on luxury, this was more like ‘home comforts’, with the smoked cheddar mac & cheese being a favourite of mine.
Raquel really enjoyed their beef tacos, I did have to pinch one of her for a thorough review and I have to admit they were really nice. This is the type of restaurant I wish they had in Brighton as it was amazing and exactly what we were craving.
Both the cheeseburger and fried chicken burger were equally as good, quite a bit of sauce so get the napkins ready, but they were so scrumptious and just the right size.

Delamina Townhouse

Serving incredible Eastern European food, there are so many dishes I could highlight here. The charred cauliflower was a masterpiece, often overlooked by restaurants but it can be made to be so tasty.
I fell in love with the crispy rosemary potatoes in a garlic infused yoghurt, scooping them up off the plate before my friends could sneak in there.
The staff were all really friendly and there was a great atmosphere inside, while the cocktails were also a nice treat.
